Hola!
The event sounds interesting. Why August 30? Is there anything planned for the Autumnal Equinox three weeks later, or is that too late in the season for Lava? (It's also a Monday...)
I agree with Carol that the City of Lava might not be too enthusiastic about such an event being held in town, but encourage you to explore your options.
You might talk to Chris Bocek, Conservation Officer with Fish and Game, about the Lion's park possibility. He could have some influence regarding the park's usage and be helpful if you can convince him that this is a worthwhile event. Address noise, litter, and alcohol issues head on (anything that could be construed as a potential "negative") and the proposal is likely to be viewed more favorably. Carol makes a good point with respect to the Sunday morning crowd; suggesting a noise curfew could be persuasive in obtaining permission.
Aside from that, I'm interested in exchanging ideas about other topics that appear to be mutually important. Am I in the right place?
I "get it". Sounds like fun. I can think of several people around here who would be interested in such an event. However, I can't imagine that the City of Lava will let you do that (bonfire, drum beating, etc) in town after dark, esp. on a Sat nite (all of the good LDS members have to be in church the next morning). Would be a great night for it tho, with new moon. I think a much better option would be to have this event at the Lava airport on private property (Reed's . . . might be good to get his permission first).
I need to give this some thought and explore it a little more. It doesn't look like there are very many members. Is bob the one we all know and love from Lava?
The people we really need to reach on these types of topics are ones who would never know this site exists. How do we reach them?

Do you have a name for the event you're thinking about?
